Commentaries are available in a wide variety of sizes and shapes. They are available as sets, or as individual volumes. A commentary may cover the entire bible, or just one of the books of the bible. And, new commentaries are always being published.

To assist in understanding the choices, these resources are currently available. More will follow. The full text of the documents can be viewed, or the bibliography itself can be searched by various categories.

Spurgeon's Commenting and Commentaries - In 1876, C. H. Spurgeon delivered two lectures to his students about the art of writing and using commentaries. This was followed up by a review of the currently available commentaries on the entire scripture, organized by book of the bible. Click on the link above to view the text of the lectures, and the comments about the commentaries.
