New Testament Books for Pastors and Teachers
by Ralph P. Martin [ published : 1984 ]
One of the saddest experiences is to talk to ministerial groups where one's fellow ministers frankly confess that they have no time or energy for study. The pressures of life in a busy world make these admissions understandable but hardly excusable. We usually can make time for what we really want to do. I hope that these reading lists will not appear too threatening, but rather that they may excite some readers to reorder their lives to make room for that essential task, namely, the reflective study of New Testament Scripture as part of a person's readiness for ministry. The titles have been selected with a view to encouraging pastors and teachers at the place where they are. (from the Preface)
